In collaboration with the CDC and national Million Hearts Initiative, Midvale CBC is improving blood pressure and cholesterol control among patients through a program that provides blood pressure monitors for patients to track their conditions at home and helps with prescription costs. Self-measured blood pressure monitoring is recommended by the CDC to improve blood pressure outcomes.
Cigna Foundation awards Midvale CBC to expand behavioral health program in Salt Lake and Summit Counties
November 30, 2022
Depression increases the risk for many types of physical health problems, particularly long-lasting conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Similarly, the presence of chronic conditions can increase the risk for mental illness. Unfortunately, these challenges are compounded by an overall shortage of mental health professionals, especially those who are Hispanic and fluent in Spanish. The Cigna Foundation is partnering with Midvale CBC to increase the availability of Spanish language behavioral health services in underserved Salt Lake and rural Summit counties.
