Not just healthcare, a healthier community
Midvale CBC is a charitable health clinic and community center serving low income, uninsured, and underinsured residents of Midvale and neighboring communities in Salt Lake and Summit counties. As a minority-led organization, we work tirelessly to change lives and increase opportunities for health among underserved populations.
Our Unique Approach
We provide whole-family, whole-community care, focused on preventing disease and promoting health. Our approach mixes evidence-based clinical and community practices with data-driven initiatives and innovation. Our Community Health Workers are experts in the community we serve. Their ongoing engagement with community members in the places where they live, work, play, and worship ensures that our programs are relevant, timely, attuned, and impactful.
Clínica De Salud
Comprehensive primary care includes arranging for treatment of chronic and acute illness, and early detection and prevention such as pap smears, well-child visits, immunizations, and physical therapy. Our certified community health workers follow up with patients in between visits. We collaborate with Salt Lake County Health Department to continuously improve our quality of care.
We offer general dentistry and pediatric dental clinics. Dental services include exams, x-rays, cleanings, dental sealants, root canals, extractions, crowns, and implants. We work with United Way and local school districts to treat uninsured children with dental caries. We offer community-based and in-home oral health education and caries prevention classes to parents.
We offer evidence-based programs to strengthen families, reduce stress, deepen community connections, increase parenting skills, and promote youth mental health. We provide behavioral health coaching and support groups. We train families on parent-child communications and conduct programs to prevent substance use, suicide, teen pregnancy, and gang involvement. We also offer mental health resiliency training for healthcare providers and other frontline workers.
We provide community building opportunities through legal services referral, financial literacy, and community education. Midvale CBC is a partner with the Utah Food Bank. We distribute food to patients, many of whom have chronic conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. We collaborate with school districts and other partners to keep kids in school and healthy.
Our Mission / Nuestra Misión
Our mission is to lead a network of community partners that will provide resources that work to eliminate poverty and empower all Midvale City residents to achieve their maximum potential. We recognize the ethnic richness of the community and commit to providing a continuum of social supports and economic resources so that timely, collaborative, family-centered services can be accessed by all members of the community.
